Inclusion at The Outdoors School

At The Outdoors School, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. As a dedicated independent special school, we are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment where every individual, learners and staff alike, can thrive.

We understand that true inclusion means prioritising the wellbeing of our entire school community. Our approach extends beyond the learning environment; our Outreach and Family Support teams work closely with families and learners to provide support at home, particularly for those experiencing attendance challenges. Together, we ensure that every learner has the opportunity to succeed.

Our school is proud to champion key areas of inclusion through the work of our dedicated Inclusion Champions. These Champions provide leadership, advocacy, and support in areas such as LGBTQIA+ inclusion, Menstruation and Menopause, Mental Health, and Neurodiversity. Their efforts help foster a culture of understanding, respect, and belonging for all.
We strive to create learning environments that meet the diverse needs of our learners, celebrating the unique strengths and abilities of every individual. We are committed to continuously examining our culture, ethos, and practices to ensure we remain a supportive and inclusive environment for all.

At The Outdoors School, inclusion is not just a value – it’s our way of working, learning, and growing together.
